Behind the Design: Hilton Head Bridal Show
This past weekend I had the great pleasure of participating in the Hilton Head Bridal Show at Hampton Hall Clubhouse. The event was a huge success as hundreds of newly engaged brides and their families filled the ballroom in hopes of securing new vendors or finding unique details to incorporate into their wedding day.
I wanted to share some pictures of the vignette we created to represent a modern chic Lowcountry affair. Our inspiration came from the natural beauty of the oyster shell, which we incorporated with a mix of metallics and natural elements for a unique fresh look. I love bringing in accent pieces that you would find around your home such as the vintage lamps with burlap shades in the background. It pulls in a sense of home, which makes people feel comfortable and cozy. I always try to incorporate home accents into wedding designs just for this reason.
The linens, provided by Connie Duglin Linen, included an underlay of Gunmetal Bengaline and overlay of Champagne Crinkle Taffeta. We purposely ordered a size larger linen for our 6′ table so that we could create a sweeping effect on each end of the table. The overlay was shortened on each side of the table to expose the gunmetal bengaline on the bottom. At the end of the table, we gathered the overlay and tied it with a gold sash. The extra length of the overlay created a beautiful sweeping train on either end of the table.
The accent table in the back along with the pewter Sunburst Chargers and Gold Chiavari Chairs were provided by Classic Party Rentals. The accent table is one of their newest rental items and would be absolutely stunning used as a dessert buffet, bar, cake stand or just to house a couple of lamps in your lounge area for a homey look!
